About the Artist
Zach Horn’s work plumbs the more off-beat elements of human existence and behavior. His colored pencil and graphite drawings are based on the absurd, bizarre, and zany thoughts that course through his mind on a daily basis. Rather than giving in to silliness, he treats his “ridiculous thoughts” with great patience, reverence, and love, leaving the viewer enriched by having encountered his work. Sourcing his subject matter from within gives Zach great leeway to put every detail, every whim, every inflection to the service of the composition so that light bends, perspective warps, proportion distorts, and colors saturate. He is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
